I have been directly involved in all phases of the development industry including: land planning, entitlements, design, construction, FF&E design & procurement, specification, product marketing, sales, leasing and operations.

*40+ years’ experience in the Hawaii development industry.

1978 to 2015 – President of my own development management consulting firm. Clients have included:

*Aston Hotels & Resorts, the Managing Agent for various hotels and resort condominium hotels in Hawaii. Responsible for administering renovations and furnishings at the Kaanapali Shores Condominium Hotel, Honolulu Prince Hotel and Waikiki Beachside Hotel.

*Hemmeter Maui Development Company – Retained to administer construction and coordinate the FF&E installation for Hyatt Regency Maui Hotel.

*The Maryl Group – Retained to assist, on the Island of Kauai, with acquisition, entitlement, contract management, development and implementation of marketing plans, lender and financial partner interface for single family subdivision and multi-family condominium.

*One Kalakaua Senior Living Condominium – Retained to assist in tenant relocation, design, selection of the general contractor, selection of an operator and the processing of permits and approvals.

*Princeville Hotel Associates – Retained to complete designs and administer construction and fitting up of this fast track hotel project when the responsible executive died at the start of construction. Completed project on budget and ahead of schedule.

*Waikiki Beach Tower Venture, the partnership which developed the 140 luxury unit condominium-hotel “Waikiki Beach Tower” – Retained to develop a marketing plan and supervise the sales and marketing due to lagging apartment sales. Reverted to resort operation with leaseback program resulting in sell out and very strong results.

*Waikiki International Plaza (dba Kuhio Mall) – Retained to supervise leasing efforts, administer tenant improvements and manage the 80,000 square foot resort shopping complex.

*Co-owner Hawaii Rainforest Botanicals – 2000 to 2005 – Provide private label aromatherapy projects and to the hotel, spa and resort industry.

1974 to 1978: Vice President of Hemmeter Center Corp. – Responsible for construction administration, FF&E design and installation coordination for the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. In addition to design and construction responsibilities on this project, was responsible for the leasing and the development of the commercial spaces for the entire project.

1971 to 1973: Director of Programming and Control for Wailea Land Corp. – Responsible for developing design and construction contracts, administrative procedures, and project controls for the development and management of the 1500 acre Wailea resort complex on Maui owned in part by Alexander & Baldwin.

1967 to 1971: Alexander & Baldwin – Worked in various capacities throughout the company’s operations.
